The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain by Hannah Brown Audiobook Review

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain by Hannah Brown Audiobook Review

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain by Hannah Brown was a pleasant surprise. Initially, I was not sure if I should apply to read/listen this story or not. That many engagement rings had me a little worried if I would like Sybil and feel for her or be annoyed by her and not make it very far into the story.

This story was so sweet. Sybil and Jamie had great chemistry. It was a beautiful second chance romance. While there was some inuendo and prompts of what was to come, it was not a super spicy romance. Sybil’s friends were also a nice part of the story. I felt like I was one of them by the end, cheering Sybil on. A group of supportive friends that someone would love to have. My only “annoyance” is the lack of communication between the characters sometimes. It makes for a more interesting story, but that is a personal pet peeve of mine. The ending was so satisfying, and I loved the lessons and path Sybil chooses for herself.

Some of the themes might be uncomfortable for some readers like infertility, mental health, and more. Make sure to research those for yourself first.

The narration by Cherami Leigh was incredibly done. She perfectly captured Sybil’s chaotic self. Her voices for the support characters were also well done. She captured the nuances of what was being said and conveyed. My only critique was how she pronounced conch.

I received an advanced audiobook from Hachette Audio through NetGalley and Libro.FM. All opinions are 100% my own.
